Looking & Quotes

Looking **Copyrighted
Passing by everyday,
You're the crazy, goofy kid,
I'm the quiet, conservative one,
She's the strong, active young woman,

We think we can see it all,
We know all that there is,

Seeing the surface
And all that there is
More beyond our eyes
Is hidden

The goofy kid is unsure and scared,
Conservative has secrets that judge,
She's the one who's crying behind closed doors
Wishing life was over.

Your older reflection stares back at you
Saying you should know better,

Just because you see it,
Doesn't mean you're looking at the truth.

"But it can also present a greater possibility of misunderstanding and sometimes even prejudice if we allow others to define who we are and what we believe rather than presenting it ourselves."

M. Russell Ballard, "Faith, Family, Facts, and Fruits," Ensign, Nov. 2007, 27

"[The] special blending of our common origins and characteristics [together with] our unique attributes, experiences, and specialized challenges . . . makes each of us who and what we are."

Cecil O. Samuelson Jr, "Perilous Times," Ensign, November 2004, 49
