I recently have found that a rumor has been going around my singles ward about me. I won't state the rumor but it's pretty bad. Especially since it's not true. I've pretty much covered all my bases, but I'm leaving the singles ward.
My friends are very upset and angry that someone would spread such a rumor. While I'd like to know who started it, I'm not really angry. I was at first, but now I'm just sad. I feel sorry that someone feels like they need to spread rumors - rumors of any kind.
I know there's going to be some people who are going to feel that they need to teach the ward about gossip again. But this is what I say. Teach them about The Atonement.
We're told the Christ suffered, bled, and died for us. Christ came knowing what was to happen. He came, he suffered in Gethsemane. He bled from every pore for our sins.
Some people know just that feel humbled but we tend to forget what happened truly.
He bled for those that commit the great sins we think of: adultery, murder and such others.
But he also bled for those things we consider to be little. The swear words, saying the Lord's name in vain, hitting someone, calling people names, lying, cheating, and more.
He bled from every pore. He bled for us. He bled for every one of our sins.
So you should ask yourself, how many pores did he bled from for you?
Christ told us to teach his sheep. So teach the right thing.
